Haedong Kumdo (해동검도), also spelled Haidong Gumdo literally means East Sea Sword Way, East Sea being an historical name given to the land of Korea. Haedong Kumdo is a relatively modern martial art that is the evolution of combining older Korean martial arts. It is a very dynamic, fluid, and exciting sword style that was developed not for one-on-one duels, but emphasizes a native Korean "battlefield" style against multiple opponents.
